During the Town of Vauxhall Council meeting that took place on November 4, Council reviewed correspondence from Amy Allred, Economic Development Manager for the Town of Taber, detailing an update about the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program.
“We are grateful for the opportunities that the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program – Rural Renewal has provided for our region,” said Allred’s letter. “It is exciting to see the ongoing development and growth of businesses and our local economy.”
Allred’s letter stated that the total number of enquiries about the program across the region total 3,526, the number of approved candidates total 11, the total number of people including family members total 34, and the number of businesses represented is four.
The active and approved businesses, Allred’s letter states, are Nonna’s Pizza, which has four candidates; the Corona Hotel, which has two candidates; Esso, which has two candidates; and A1 Pizza, which has three candidates.
Allred’s letter states that the program continues on into 2025, and the region is looking forward to the continued strength that the program brings to both communities and businesses.
“Having a stable workforce program, such as the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program, encourages continued growth, entrepreneurship, and development,” concluded Allred’s letter.
Council ultimately accepted the correspondence for information.
