M.D. council approve grazing lease

During a recent meeting, Administration presented a Request for Decision regarding a Cameron Colony Tax Recovery Grazing Lease Assignment.

Administration explained to Council that the Hutterian Brethren Church of Cameron has requested that the M.D. of Taber approve the assignment of their tax recovery grazing lease quarters NW 2-12-18 W4 and SE 11-12-18 W4 to Jason Welsh. The Cameron Colony, Administration explained, will be retaining one quarter of their tax recovery grazing lease located at SW 3-12-18 W4, and in accordance with the requirements and terms related to assignments under the current tax recovery grazing lease, Jason Welsh maintains his primary residence within the M.D. of Taber and is in good standing with the M.D. having no outstanding rents, taxes, utility accounts, and have no active enforcement or compliance files. Administration also stated that no public consultation is required for Tax Recovery grazing lease assignments, and that the leaseholder is aware that the tax recovery grazing leases expire in February of 2026.

Administration’s recommendation to Council was that the M.D. of Taber approve the assignment of the Hutterian Brethren Church of Cameron tax recovery grazing lease at NW 2-12-18 W4 and SE 11-12-18 W4 to Jason Welsh as per the terms of the M.D. of Taber Tax Recovery Grazing Lease.

Administration also commented that ‘there will be realized revenue of $10,500 associated with the lease assignment.’

Ultimately, a motion was made that the M.D. of Taber approve the assignment of the Hutterian Brethren Church of Cameron tax recovery grazing lease at NW 2-12-18 W4 and SE 11-12-18 W4 to Jason Welsh as per the terms of the M.D. of Taber Tax Recovery Grazing Lease and the motion was carried.
